ROOMASH
“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”
― Albert Einstein
It’s not how the art is made; it’s how the art is interpreted. Art has always been the purest yet mystified form of expression. It defines beauty beyond a person’s imagination. We all find ourselves lost in some enigmatic piece of beauty that can question our imagination and answer our soul. A delight to watch and soothe the mind. It carries an emotion, a message, an experience which gets transmitted through Art. It’s a mystery to some and self-discovery to countless. Uniquely positioned to move people, inspire them and inciting questions and provoking curiosity, excitement, and outrage.
In today’s world of startups, we all are focused on creating something new and innovative that is the need of the hour. But the creativity is best expressed through art. And art should never lose its value. Creativity goes hand-in-hand with art. The artistic work is incomplete without creativity; creativity is incomplete without innovation. While creativity creates a new idea, innovations work on implementation of a new idea, solution, process, or product. But the best way to express creativity and innovation is ART. Art and artists are diminishing now-a-days. On digital frontiers, we often forget the true value of art. While all startups are focusing towards the digital world, one of them is sticking to its roots. It’s hard to be an artist and even harder to keep the art alive. Shamoor is doing that. Shamoor is a 360-degree marketing and strategic branding company with a warm digital heart. Shamoor traces its roots to Cards Galore, an award-winning company. Shamoor organized a populist event which received intense critical acclaim called Roomash, Delhi’s most innovative Art showcase. A lot can be vocalized through art if you have the heart to listen and soul to appreciate.
It was a beautiful August Sunday morning, ordinary for some but extraordinary for the artists of New Delhi. It was the first day of the 2-week long event. For the next fortnight Shamoor Headquarters in Pitampura, Delhi hosted designers and bloggers from around the city. Walls became canvas and imagination the palette. It would not be an over-statement to say that not a single wall was left uncolored by the budding artists as they painted their thoughts and ideas on them. From shoe painting to sand art, from innovative home decor items to beautifully painted murals and canvases, one could find it all there. Shamoor Headquarters turned into a theme based party place. It seemed like a world full of magic. There were doodles all over, GOT inspired vector arts on the walls, wild graffiti on the skirtings, and nothing was left untouched. Even the air-conditioners and switch boards developed a quirky character. With the event commencing at 9 each morning, various artists swarmed in. There were college students from NIFT, Delhi College of Arts, Pearl Academy and the likes. On one hand were young students painting the wall and on the other hand housewives revitalizing the artist lying dormant within them to create offbeat handcrafted items.
Roomash connected hundreds of Delhiites, including over 50 Delhi based bloggers. The bloggers who were a part of the event discussed the hand-crafted items of décor, concept wall arts, and various digital artworks from all over India. Shamoor had collaborated with Xblues Jeans and Papers Adda for the event.
“Art is not just about beautiful paintings and handcrafted products. The detailed imprints in a photograph are its photographer’s art. The way how a delicacy is made is the chef’s innovation. How fashion enthusiasts carry off their outfits, reflects their creativity. Shamoor was founded with the strong belief that if observed from the right perspective, even a meagre object beholds mind boggling artistic capabilities. And, thus we are passionate enough to promote art in the best form”, says Surbhi, the co-founder of Shamoor.
Creative showcases like these are essentially networking events where artists and crafts people can connect with kindred spirits and bond with fellow art lovers over a communal love of art that’ll not just support their artistic career but provide room for learning and opinions. Not only the artists, but the spectators also enjoyed the creative process. As the beauty of art captured their core and mesmerized their senses.
The stand-out success of Roomash was not the words written about the event but the emotions that were expressed, the values that were exchanged. Artworks still shine on the walls of Shamoor HQ. This is the beauty of art. It sustains forever. It will keep on inspiring others and enticing them to make more. It was a courageous out of the box event and such initiatives should be taken more often to keep the art scene of India flourishing. Shamoor has taken the first few steps with creativity and innovation intact. As they march towards the magical world of art, the expectations are sky-high for the next edition. Art is the root of creativity. Reliving art motivates to work better and create better. All businesses should expand their calendar to organize such events to inspire both the employees and the employers.
I would like to end with wise words of the renowned artist Pablo Picasso- Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
